It took me months to realize what channeling is not, at least not for me.
I had expected an entity to enter into me and speak through me.
Channeling when it happened to me was at first more like taking a dictation.
At the initial stages, I helped the process along.
I would go into meditative states, clear my mind and then wait.
I would see two words or a sentence coming in.
I would take it and voice it as more words or sentences came in.
Sometimes, it would be images and sometimes just a knowing.
The knowing is a little hard to describe.
It is just information placed there, like a parcel.
Like receiving a parcel where you see it there.
And know what it is only when you unpacked it.
This I came to learn is conscious channeling.
As I got better at it, I became more ambitious also.
I wanted to do full trance channeling.
I never really attain to full trance channeling but close.
Most of the time, it was semi trance channeling.
I am able to get into that state after willing myself to enter into trance states.
I would feel the energy very strongly and invited them in to take me over.
And I would feel them speaking through me.
The most exciting ones were when I channeled Source through my higher self.
The energy was so strong, the presence so strong,
I had no doubt I was engaged in more than semi trance channeling.
However, I was channeling long before I knew what channeling was.
I remember writing to my sister when the words flowed in, almost like taking a dictation.
Later, my sister told me what I wrote was very accurate.
It was so accurate when she did not want me to talk her out of something she is intent on doing,
She told my other sisters not to tell me about it.
Then there were those times I felt inspired to write certain verses.
I would hold it at bay till I could get to a keyboard.
And then I would start typing.
The words flowed until it ran itself dry and the piece was done.
Whenever that happened, I would feel as though I wrote something great.
Which I likely did, it being channeled.
